Couples Therapy
Drifting apart while trying to reach each other
The subject of an argument may change while the feeling it leaves behind remains familiar: not mattering, being left alone, constant criticism, or the sense that nothing is ever enough. In our sessions, we consider what each of you is experiencing and how the ways you respond to one another affect the relationship.

How we work in sessions
We look at specific moments from your everyday life. Where does the conversation become difficult? What does a particular phrase mean to each of you? What does one person feel when the other moves closer? Through systemic questions and, where appropriate, experiential exercises, we explore expectations, needs, relationship habits learned in your families, and the effects of your life circumstances. Both people's experiences have a place in the conversation.
We work on expressing a wish without it becoming an accusation, hearing what the other person is experiencing, and talking about your differences. Together, we decide the direction of the work, taking account of whether you are considering continuing the relationship, changing how it works, or separating.
Format: In person in Berlin or online. Session languages: Turkish or English.
