Systemic Approach
Unlike classical therapeutic methods that focus heavily on the individual’s personal history and the root cause of problems, systemic therapy emphasizes the client’s relationships with people and groups in their environment.
The systemic perspective views the individual not in isolation, but as part of a family, partnership, group, or community. It examines the dynamics within these relationships. The aim is to identify patterns in the client’s interactions, understand how they communicate and behave within these dynamics, and work towards transforming them.
Systemic therapy is particularly effective for individuals dealing with relationship problems, anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance dependency, body image issues, low self-esteem, and many other challenges. The number of sessions depends on the client’s individual needs. Since therapy is a collaborative process, the most suitable techniques are always chosen together with the client.
Family Constellation
Family Constellation Therapy is a short-term group intervention within the systemic approach. It helps clients discover and address patterns and conflicts within their family systems.
In this work, group members with no prior connection to the client take on roles of various family members and enact the dynamics they perceive in relation to the client’s concerns. In this way, family constellation therapy functions as an expressive method that fosters insight into the client’s problems.
It can help break dysfunctional behavioral patterns inherited from the family of origin, reveal how ancestral patterns affect couples’ conflicts, or provide a symbolic confrontation with a deceased, absent, or unsafe abuser. However, it is not limited to specific diagnoses. Depression, anxiety, self-confidence issues, and many other difficulties can also be addressed through this method.
Brief Solution-Focused Therapy
This approach, rather than concentrating on the problem and its causes, builds solutions step by step based on the principles of positive psychology. It emphasizes making significant progress through small, achievable steps.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy helps clients identify the behavioral changes they desire, define them clearly, strengthen their motivation, and achieve success step by step. With sustainable progress, their goals can be realized.
It is a future-oriented approach that nurtures positive emotions, strengthens hope, and empowers the client. Almost any issue can be addressed using this method.
Jungian Dream Therapy
Jungian Dream Therapy views dreams as the symbolic language of the unconscious and one of the most valuable pathways into the inner world. Dreams are not only reflections of daily life but also guiding messages in the process of psychological growth and integration.
Dream analysis helps clients recognize recurring symbols, archetypes, and unconscious dynamics in their lives. Through this process, they confront their shadow aspects, potentials, and inner conflicts, and initiate transformation by discovering their inner resources.
Jungian Dream Therapy is particularly effective for those struggling with identity issues, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, creative blockages, lack of life direction, or feelings of inner emptiness. Its aim is to build a bridge between consciousness and the unconscious, enabling the individual to integrate the guidance of dreams into daily life for a more authentic and whole existence.
The duration and number of sessions vary depending on the client’s needs.
My Approach and Techniques
In therapy and counseling, I primarily work within the Systemic Approach, while integrating various techniques—such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Jungian Dream Analysis Therapy—according to the client’s needs.
About me
I completed my secondary and high school education at TED Zonguldak College and earned my teaching degree from Boğaziçi University. I pursued my Master’s degree in Gender Studies at Istanbul University and received my PhD—partly at the University of London Institute of Education and partly at Boğaziçi University.
I hold a doctorate in Pedagogy and Educational Sciences, with a strong focus on counseling and therapy throughout my academic career. Since 1999, I have been teaching in the departments of pedagogy, teacher education, and social work at universities in Turkey and Germany. In Germany, I also lecture on counseling techniques, approaches, and practices alongside theoretical areas of the social sciences.
Since 2004, I have been providing psychological counseling services to university students. In this work, I have supported young adults—particularly those from the LGBT+ community—in overcoming challenges by helping them to draw upon their own strengths and resources.
In addition to my academic work, I spent 12 years as a consultant for more than 50 large and medium-sized companies in Turkey, including Rehau, Bosch, Arkas, and the Banks Association of Turkey. My consultancy focused on Human Resources Management, Internal Communication, Managerial Communication Skills, and Employee Satisfaction. I also provided executive coaching and communication consulting to managers.
My training in counseling and therapy includes Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Transactional Analysis. I hold a Diploma in Jungian Psychology from the All-Ireland Centre for Jungian Studies (C.G. Jung Centre) and provide both therapy/counseling and training in Jungian Dream Therapy.
Furthermore, I completed a three-year accredited specialization program approved by the DGSF (Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Systemische Therapie, Beratung und Familientherapie – German Association for Systemic Therapy, Counseling, and Family Therapy) and am recognized as a Systemic Therapist in Germany.

Areas of Special Focus
In my therapy and counseling work, I draw strength from both my professional experience and my personal life journey. I stand beside individuals and families, offering them a safe, compassionate, and transformative space.

As the mother of a child with autism, supporting families of children on the autism spectrum is an area of profound importance to me as both a therapist and a counselor.
This challenging process can place families under immense and lasting strain. Relying on both my personal experiences and my professional background, I have been leading voluntary group therapy sessions specifically designed for parents of children with autism.
AUTISM FAMILY SUPPORT
Supporting individuals—especially women—who face the unique challenges of rebuilding their lives through migration is another central focus of my work. The interplay of multiple identities, gender, and social class under the umbrella of migration brings with it unique existential challenges.
Regardless of one’s educational or social background, I strive to provide deep and empowering support in areas of identity, belonging, and cultural integration. In the therapeutic process, I seek to understand each individual’s unique journey and to accompany them at their own pace.
MIGRATION

The impact of socially imposed gender roles on people’s lives has long been a subject of my academic research and remains a central focus in my therapeutic practice.
I integrate my knowledge and experience into therapy to support the growth of both women and men. Understanding how social roles shape personal struggles, and how these roles intertwine with individual experiences, enriches the therapeutic process.
A gender perspective is therefore a vital element of therapy, as it enables both women and men to discover their potential in new and empowering ways.
